Downhill Demesne Kite Festival, Castlerock …..

The first weekend in August brought the Kite Festival to our area and more specifically Andrew & Kathleen Beattie of TUG.com, along with their friends Seb & Clara, to Hegarty’s Corner.

Andrew and ‘Crew’ were responsible for the wonderful display of Giant Kites to be seen flying all weekend at the Festival on the cliffs above Downhill/Castlerock Strands. Check out their site on the link above.

The event itself attracted large numbers, particularly on the Sunday. Many family groups attended bringing their picnic hampers and portable camping chairs and just enjoying the day ….. along with at least one in each family trying out the kite flying 🙂
