Ferry To Rathlin …
We’ve wanted to visit Rathlin since we arrived in Northern Ireland.
A twenty minute ferry ride from Ballycastle takes you there and this is not a put-put ferry, two 500bhp engines lift the boat up on to it’s plane and whisks you off to the island.
Not sure the trip/island is for everyone and I’m not sure how long it will be before we visit again. The bird sanctuary is probably the island’s biggest draw, that or the search for solitude. You’d have to stay over though, I reckon, to experience the solitude otherwise you spend your day with a good few other day trippers.
