Looking Back From The End Of The Pier …..

It’s always a pleasant walk along Castlerock Beach to the end of the pier.

This view is from the end of the pier looking back inland with immediately :-

• to the right (westward) the dunes of Castlerock G.C., further over would be Castlerock itself, then Mussenden Temple sat above Downhill Beach, on to Lough Foyle with its Donegal (Mallin Head) backdrop.
• to the left (eastwards) the mouth of the River Bann flowing to Coleraine and beyond eventually reaching Lough Neagh, on the other side of the river and pier is Portstewart Strand and golf course, Portstewart itself, then Portrush, on to the Giants Causeway and beyond to Ballintrae, Ballintoy and Ballycastle.

All in all, the Causeway Coast in all its scenic majesty and all within 30 mins max from us here at Hegarty’s Corner 🙂
